Trainee Merchandiser – Childrenswear

An exciting NEW opportunity has arisen for a Merchandising Graduate to join our hugely successful Childrenswear team as a Trainee Merchandiser. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis and will operate Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. This role reports to our Childrenswear Merchandiser and will join a larger Merchandising team of 20.

This is a fast paced role and you will support the Childrenswear Merchandiser with general administrative duties, preparing weekly reports, and liaising across the Buying and Merchandising team to ensure the correct stock is allocated across the company thus driving profitability.  

As you develop your understanding of the role, you will be responsible for:

  • Review weekly sales in retail and direct
  • Attend critical path meetings keeping the Childrenswear merchandiser informed of any action to be taken
  • Work with stores and arrange visits to understand issues and opportunities
  • Attending range building and selection meetings
  • Monitor and update line cards on a weekly basis and propose actions to the Childrenswear Merchandiser
  • Analyse previous sales history to determine future size rations
  • Amend the system when the order book is closed, ensuring all stock is correctly placed

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will preferably be educated to degree level in Merchandising or Fashion with Business Studies. You will have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written and will have a demonstrable proactive approach and show initiate. You will be analytical, have strong mathematical skills and be a competent user of Excel which will be tested at interview.
